Moraga Commons Trail

Image
Moraga Commons Trail is found in the heart of Moraga, California  The trail head begins at the Moraga Commons Park It is 5 miles of excellent paved trail running.   It is spring time and the green grass and blossoming trees give the trail such beauty.  The path also allows for bikes and dogs on leashes.  We often start the run from Olympic parking lot and run towards Moraga Commons Park.  That was we run the slight incline on the 5 miles to the park and have a slight down hill slope for our run back to the cars.   The path runs along neighborhood backyards in Lafayette and through the edge of cattle country in Moraga.  There is even a little waterfall to be found during the rainy season.  Close to the Moraga Commons Park on the side of the trail are work out stations that you can stop and do pull ups on bars, sit ups on logs or balance beams. Its a great place to get a good outdoor work out.  Great trail for the full family however ...

The blossoms are blooming here and being out on the trails is the most wonderful thing!   This trail is full of gorgeous beauty!  It starts at the parking lot of Inspiration Point on Wildcat Canyon Rd.  You can hike this loop any direction, but it starts with the Meadows Canyon Trail. This trail allows both walkers and bikers on the path.   At the first left I took the Curran Trail and descended down into the valley where a stream runs during the rainy months.   Turn right on Wildcat Gorge Trail to follow the stream and its beauty.  Wildcat Gorge Trail will bring you to Meadows Canyon Trail and Loop Road Parking lot.   This parking lot is another option where to start this hike.  To make the loop take a sharp right on Meadows Canyon Trail and watch as the view change to an open meadow and up hill hiking.    Here I hiked back up to Curran trail, but this time went left to return to Inspiration point.   ...

Exploring Tilden Park Trails   Saturday Morning run. This run started at Tilden Park Steam trains. We ran Grizzly Peak along the ridge line, past the turn for Lawrence Hall of Science and the Berkeley University. We continued to enjoy the views of local Berkeley houses until we turned right on Wild Cat Canyon Road and Left on Canon Dr. We Followed Canon to Central Park Dr. and ran left to the Tilden Park little farm. It was fun to run around the farm and see all the farm animals. Typically this would be a great bathroom stop, but we were there too early for the restrooms to be open. At Tilden Park Little Farm there is a wide choice of trails to take. We ran the Lower Packrat Trail. This part of the trail is full of beautiful foliage and trees. It is a little too tight to ride a bike in my opinion. At Jewel Lake we circled round to Upper Packrat trail and started to wonder our way back to our car. We traveled Memory Trail, to Selby Trail (the trail has seen damage due to...
